Conclusion

In conclusion, in order to become successful entrepreneurs like them all it is vital to have one of the features that we mentioned earlier. This is because these features are not only important to the individual entrepreneurs themselves to ensure she or he is able to survive in the business world but the surrounding communities as well. I say so because the entrepreneur or entrepreneurial very important impact to the outside world and its role as a catalyst of change and economic growth of a country which can increase levels of per capita in terms of production  and national income. They are also responsible for the changes to the structure of business and society through the growth and increase production while developing new products or services on the market. In other words, they should always be the driving force behind the distribution of wealth through better methods to maximize resources and reduce waste.

Traits Of Successful Entrepreneur : Pua Khein Seng

Mr K.s. Pua Khein Seng gratuated with a Bachelor of Electrical control Engineering Degree with Honours in 1997 from National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), and obtained his Master of Electrical and Control Engineering in 1999 from the same unversity. Mr K.S is the chairman and CEO of Phison Electronics Corporation, Taiwan, which designed and produced the world’s frist single chip USB flash single chip USB flash controller technologies releted to USB flash drive as well as flash memory cards and due to exceptional engineering strength the company is able to deliver solutions.

Pua Khein Seng was a visionary person. Why do i say so this is because  Pua khein Seng was work with smart partnerships and shrewd strategies, after that he was made its way into European, American and Japanese markets. Not only that one quick move was securing Japanese tech giant Toshiba as Phison's largest shareholder and customer. He and his partner launched Pen Drive in June 2001 and by August the same year.

As others successful entrepreneurs, Khein-Seng also start from the bottom of the salaried workers for 6 months at one of the local companies before inviting 4 other partners of his college to establish Phison Electronics Corporation in November 2000. This is why I consider him as a team-oriented entrepreneur of distinction for the five of them are very confident with their knowledge and abilities to start a business that focuses primarily on the USB technology. So, Khein-Seng and his partners managed to highlight their innovative products in the world after the first 6 months of their companies operation. For those who just turned 27 years old at the time and lack of experience did not prevent them from designing chips and a great system at that time.

Other than that, the trait of risk taker clearly showed when he decided to stop his studying in Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. At first he was planning to further study in Taiwan because the cost is much cheaper than in United States and Singapore. He never thought that he would be an inventor of pen drive and become multi-million people in Taiwan. Good performance shows in undergraduate make him been offers to continue his study in master. After completing his master, he worked with local company for six months before he take challenge to open up his own business. He started his business with another four engineer graduated from Chiao Tung university, creating world first business which focussed on USB technology.

Besides, outcome oriented is a term used to describe knowing what results are important and focusing resources to achieve them. Pua Khein Seng is an entrepreneur that practice outcome oriented. At first when he and his friends start their company, the shareholders promised to invest NT$30mil in their company. Unfortunately, the shareholders only invested NT$1mil and later opted to give up. After that, they target to get NT$6mil through borrowings and their own savings. At that time, venture capitalists were not exactly in a hurry to put money in the fledgling business.  With that, Phison got off the ground. In January 2001, an Australian customer approached the company on the possibility of producing a USB drive. This put Phison on the path to its rapid rise. Actually, there was already a USB drive but they invented the USB drive SoC (system on chip), which uses a single chip. At that time, he is only 27 years old. Despite this milestone, the company still had to face some problems. It was tough, for example, for a start-up with limited funds to attract talent. The company’s have since grown following its listing on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 2004. It now has 430 employees, of whom 210 are engineers.

As the definition of observant which is quick to notice things, Pua Khein Seng decided to create a pen drive. Creating a pen drive in 2001 shows that Pua Khein Seng sees that the world need a better technology to store and save the information. He sees that people need a device which is smaller, faster, have thousands of times more capacity, and are more durable and reliable. Unlike the floppy disks and CD’s which are easily broken and scratch. He said that to grow further, we have to keep improving ourselves. We are our own worst enemy. We have to be patient and concentrate on the things we are doing.

Team-Oriented : Pua Khein-Seng

  • Name : Pua Khein Seng or Pan Jian Cheng
  • Age : 41 years old
  • Date of Birth : 15 June 1974
  • Residence : Taiwan
  • Nationality : Malaysia
  • Ethnicity : Chinese
  • Occupation : CEO of Phison Electronic Corporation

Pua Khein-Seng and more popular with the title "father of the pendrive" in Malaysia and K.S. Pua frightens the world with the invention Pen drive around June 2001 and in September he and 4 other partners have been achieving their company's first profit. This entrepreneur was born in Sekinchan, Selangor was determined to study in Taiwan because its cost is lower than in the United States or Singapore. Then, he managed to get a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Control Engineering.

This Chinese man from Malaysia and had never imagined himself to be a millionaire today. But of course he was doomed to the position now starting to move his feet to National Chiao Tung University eventually stayed there since he set up his company. This high intellectual entrepreneurs was offered to masters’ level only after he received his first degree. Then, Khein-Seng took the opportunity and awarded masters in around July 1999.

However, when the five come from the same background which is engineering, each of them had no knowledge about selling or buying. So, they are aggressively seeking partners or other businessman who is able to sell the product. Armed with a good strategy and the main thing was that the smart partnership has taken him all over the world, namely Europe, America and Japan and was surprising is that Toshiba, the Japanese giant technology company has become the customer and the largest shareholder of their company.

Students who received his early education in SJKCs Yeok Kuan, Sekinchan was spinning thinking and working to ensure Phison Electronics Corporation continues to shine so he decided to open a branch in Malaysia is when he feels if its engineers returned to Malaysia, they would have taken by competitors at that time. This is because, 20 out of 100 workers were from Malaysia and on average they want to return to their own country on a number of factors. Even armed with the sacred intention of returning to contribute in their own homeland,  Pua Khein-Seng never miss out various problems such as lack of employment opportunities and lack of hardware engineers environment for design engineers or support system here.

His hard work paid off when he successfully open new markets in Malaysia as well. Open Culture : Kim Beom-Soo

  • Name : Kim Boem-Soo
  • Age : 49 years old
  • Date of Birth : 8 March 1966
  • Nationality : South Korea
  • Occupation : Chairman of Daum Kakao
  • Net Worth : US$2.4 billion (May 2015)
Kim Beom-Soo is a South Korea billionaire businessman, the chairman of KakaoTalk, a South Korean internet company. He was born on 8 March 1966. He has a BSc degree in engineering, and an MSc degree, both from Seoul National University. He is married with two children and lives in Seoul, South Korea. In May 2015, Forbes estimated his net worth at US$2.4 billion. He is one of the successful entrepreneurs in South Korea.

Open Culture is a concept that knowledge should be freely and growth must come from the developing world, change or enrich the work already existing on the basis of partnership and cooperation, without being bound to the rules relating to the protection of intellectual property laws.

Open cultural trait has been applied by the owner of application KakaoTalk, Kim Beom-soo who invented the hottest smart phone applications. KakaoTalk is a smart phone application that ordering heyday of South Korea. As many as 18 million users worldwide in July 2011 had downloaded and use the application KakaoTalk. This causes the application KakaoTalk got the top spot in the App Store and became the most successful social service across iPhone and Android platform in Korea. By the end of this year, KakaoTalk is estimated to have total of 20 million users. KakaoTalk success continued rising their social application on the world market. KakaoTalk has approximately 1 million users outside the country and this figure continues to grow by leaps and bounds every day. KakaoTalk has now control over 300 million messages per day. KakaoTalk, the successful mobile applications invented by Kim beom-soo has attracted Google to choose KakaoTalk as one of the main developers in Android Market.

He had imagined himself as the owner of his own company in the future since pursues studies at Seoul National University. He majored in industrial engineering at Seoul National University, which is the nation’s top university in Korea. He heard many interesting stories about the school alums become business entrepreneurs prevail. So, he had been determined and trying to hold their own business with an Internet company after setting up a college in the hope that he could join those successful entrepreneurs.

At first, Mr. Kim Beom Soo is a very successful businessman who Hangame, a reputable online game in which prominent. Hangame was eventually merged with the NHN, a top Internet property in Korea with gross annual revenue over $1 billion. Kim Boem Soo’s early work, KakaoTalk was not that brilliant. Few projects such as memo aggregation or personal ranking chart combined with social network features were in production but never really took off. In the SNS market, there were Facebook and Twitter already became global power brands. In web based SNS was already in the “red ocean” and competition was high. So, he turned his attention to the app market. The emergence and rapid growth of the Smartphone market in Europe and North America inspired him to moving forward. He had expected that Korea would follow such a big wave of smart phone penetration soon. Sending short message is not too expensive but mass market loves KakaoTalk that allows users to send short messages back and forth for free.

He has made few interesting points on his success that could be note-worthy to those folks who build their products in the smart phone universe. First, he  emphasizes on “venture mind”. Without it, KakaoTalk wouldn’t be materialized. He values highly of those people with hearts for innovative ideas than lucrative business model. For instance, up until last year, the company didn’t turn any revenue from KakaoTalk. Generating revenue was always second in the row just like Facebook did during its early days. Second, KakaoTalk is also unusual in the sense that it has created a horizontal organization. Unlike other Korean companies, where top-down management is sort of cultural norm, Jae-Bum encourages active communication and debate among peers in order to keep the organization away from unnecessary bureaucracy. In Korea’s typical office setting, it is not common practice. Though, this policy really helps and makes people to get friendly to each other even if there is 10~20 years of age gap between peers. Third, the company has done reorganization of internal team almost 40 times since its inception. It has contributed to KakaoTalk’s unhindered communication among different parts of the company and the team to collaborate. It has also made the company can better understand and react to fast-changing market needs and reflect them into the product development faster.

Outcome Oriented : Lee Kun-Hee

  • Name : Lee Kun-hee
  • Age : 73 years old
  • Date of Birth : 9 January 1942
  • Nationality : South Korea
  • Occupation : Chairman of Samsung
  • Net Worth : US$10.8 billion (June 2015)
Outcome oriented is a term used to describe knowing what results are important and focusing resources to achieve them. Lee Kun-Hee is not only the person primarily responsible for transforming an agricultural firm into the electronics giant, Samsung, but also, in good measure, the person behind Korea’s economic boom.  Without doubt, one of the primary traits which define Lee Kun-Hee is his determination to constantly transform his firm. The latter began as an agricultural conglomerate until becoming the world’s leading producer of computer chips, flat screens and latest generation mobile phones. His vision is perfectly reflected in a letter he dedicated to Samsung clients, employees and friends: “We live in passionate times of digital revolution, characterized by change and constant creative innovation. To maintain our leadership in these turbulent times, we have to be able to adapt quickly to the setting around us and transform changes into opportunities. The 20th century was moved by advances in productivity.

Lee Kun-Hee is not only the person primarily responsible for transforming Samsung from an agricultural firm into an electronics giant but also, in good measure, the person behind South Korea’s economic boom, a phenomenon in which Samsung has played an enormous part. This role is well illustrated by the fact that the group accounts for a fifth of all the country’s exports.

As tends to occur with highly charismatic and influential people, Lee Kun-Hee’s name has not eluded controversy. These include a long legal battle with the company’s main competitor, Apple, embodied by Steve Jobs’ will to fight until the very end and the sentence which found him guilty of tax evasion though he was finally pardoned by the Korean Government in 2010. This pardon was another example of the power Lee Kun-Hee wields in his country where, as a member of the Olympic Committee, many feel he was responsible for Korea having been named to host the 2018 Winter Olympics.

However, his conviction for tax evasion ended up having a much higher price, eventually leading him to resign as President of Samsung. Since 2008 Samsung has been managed by professionals who don’t belong to the family, though the latter has always been in control. Even more so after Lee Jae Yong, Lee Kun-Hee’s son, was named President of Samsung Electronics Ltd last December, the group’s leading company. Many believe that Lee Jae Yong’s new post reflects his intention to soon fill the President’s chair which is still vacant after his father abandoned it.

Finding a leader in each generation capable of adapting the firm to the times is necessary to be able to ensure the firm’s continuity. The Lee family has been able to do so in the past thanks to the model they apply to structure the business group’s governing bodies. It basically consists of a complete symbiotic relationship between the family and the company, in which the family is involved in almost every day-to-day decision. In this case, the family is an added value, providing management talent and institutional relations at every level. NEWSLETTER MARCH 2013 Samsung, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of mass consumer electronic products, began with a small store in Seoul, when Lee Byung-Chul created Samsung General Stores to export fish, vegetables and fruit to Manchuria and Beijing.

This period was also characterized by a statement associated to Lee Kun-Hee: “Excepting our wives and children, everything has to change.” In little time, Samsung sold 10 subsidiaries and, breaking with the Korean tradition of providing long-term employment, it dismissed more than 30,000 workers.

Proactive : Irfan Khairi

Name : Irfan Khairi
Age : 32 years old

As early as 18 years old Irfan Khairi have taken steps so that he became so successful now. It begins with a dream who wants to be a millionaire at the age of 30 years. Then, he began to reveal himself to entrepreneurship by reading motivational books and attend seminars and talks. For him, success has done so now is the result of it’s previously. He was very interested and serious in studying e-commerce and the internet are eligible to graduate in Bachelor of Multimedia Design from Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom. The father of 4 children have been offered a job at one of the largest IT company in Birmingham, Netmedia in the UK shortly after completing your studies.

I classified him as proactive entrepreneurs when he have big dreams since childhood and take action and continued efforts to achieve the dream. While in his teens before he was subdued and less in common with him but do a lot of thinking and look around so that he often wondered what makes people succeed? According to him, "Indeed, too many answers to the question of what makes a person successful. However, when considered in more detail, in fact it goes back to two things only. And these two things in life that I live, and also the business ..."

So, what are the two things that he meant? First, successful people have a goal and a clear vision of life. This is because, those who are "entrepreneurs" are those who often get ideas and continuously try to implement it. He added, "More precisely our goal, clearer vision we can see, we will be more focused in achieving that goal." Hence, if we want to succeed, we must try and find solutions instead of excuses. Irfan Khairi also share many success stories about why we often hear business people start with a story of failure and distress? This is because of difficulties and failures as a trigger to the path of success when it touched their instincts to get out of the situation by any means. According to him, "When in trouble and fail, often we will strive harder and more intense. We have felt sorrow and failure and we do not want any more in such circumstances." So, armed with a determination that will change one has to try to find a solution rather than giving a reason. "Read only their great success stories over the world, from the Body Shop owner, so the owner of KFC. From Oprah Winfrey, until Richard Branson. From Dato Husammidin (founder Karangkraf) until the story of my own (Irfan Khairi!) Who do not run from 2 this important matter. That is, have a clear vision of the goal and try to find ways and stop gaps and not a reason to reach the goal! "

Actually, Irfan proactive attitude has been evident ever since he decided to start his own business for full time at home alone with a capital of RM500. He took bold steps after several years working as a designer of multimedia system and an internet consultant and part of the team responsible for designing Internet learning systems for schools in the UK, called Learning Grid immediately after graduation. While working at the firm, he worked part-time basis to develop their own online business in 1999 when he was only 22 years old. Exactly one year of operation, Irfan took the daring decision to put all his commitment to Internet business that he earned  when he found the greatest benefit has been obtained by Irfan Khairi Sdn Bhd, which provides training and advice and guidance on who wants to start a business oriented Internet. At the age of 25 years of completion of 3 years of its operation, he was a young millionaires after the company obtained a net profit of RM1, 000, 000 without the need for sophisticated computer equipment and employees.

Naturally he be awarded the Young Innovation Award in 2006 from Oxford Association of Management, United Kingdom for his efforts to educate, guide and inspiration to a new generation in Malaysia in the field of Internet and Entrepreneurship.
